【摘要】:Gabionsandmattresses,describedinSpecificationsA974andA975,areplacedonsitesforstabilityandtopreventsoilerosion.Theirabilitytofunctionproperlydependsontheirstability,whichispartlydependentupontherocksfillingthem.Rocksizesshouldbechosedtopreventthemfromfallingthroughthemeshofthegabionsormattresses.Therockalsohastowithstandnaturalweatheringprocessesduringthelifeoftheprojectthatwouldcauseittobreakdowntosizessmallerthanthewiremeshopeningdimensions.1.1Thispracticecoversthesizesandqualityofrocktofillgabionsandmattresses.ThetermmattressasusedinthisstandardshallincludetheterminologyofgabionmattressesandrevetmattressesusedinSpecificationsA974andA975.1.2Thispracticedoesnotcoverthesizesandqualityofrockforothererosioncontrolusessuchasriprapordrainfall.1.3Thispracticedoesnotcoverthematerialpropertiesorconstructionofgabionsormattresses.1.4ThevaluesinthispracticeareinEnglishunitsandaretoberegardedasthestandard.Siunitsaregiven.1.5Thispracticeoffersasetofinstructionsforperformingoneormorespecificoperations.Thisdocumentcannotreplaceprofessionaljudgement.Notallaspectsofthispracticemaybeapplicableinallcircumstances.ThisASTMstandardisnotintendedtorepresentorreplacethestandrdofcarebywhichtheadequacyofagivenprofessionalservicemustbejudged,norshouldthisdocumentbeappliedwithoutconsiderationofaproject''smanyuniqueaspects.Thewordx201C;Standardx201D;inthetitleofthisdocumentmeansonlythatthedocumenthasbeenapprovedthroughtheASTMconsensusprocess.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
