【摘要】:Knowledgeofhardnessisusefulinthedevelopmentandthequalitycontrolofacousticaltileandlay-inceilingpanels.Deviationfromanestablishedhardnessrangewillassistinpointingoutprocessingerrorsordefectiverawmaterials,therebyaidingthemaintenanceofuniformproductquality.Thispropertyisalsousefulincomparingtherelativeabilitiesofmaterialstoresistindentationsonthepanelsurfacecausedbyimpacts.Sincethehardnessvarieswiththethickness,onlysamplesofthesamethicknessmaybedirectlycompared.1.1Thesetestmethodscoverthedeterminationofthestrengthpropertiesofprefabricatedarchitecturalacousticaltileorlay-inceilingpanelsasfollows:1.2Notallofthetestsdescribedinthesetestmethodsmaybenecessarytoevaluateanyparticularproductforaspecificuse.Ineachinstance,itwillbenecessarytodeterminewhichpropertiesarerequired.1.3Thesetestmethodsspecifyproceduresthatmaybeusedinproductdevelopment,manufacturingcontrol,specificationacceptance,andserviceevaluation.1.4Propertiesdeterminedbythesetestmethodsreflecttheperformanceofthematerialsunderthespecificconditionsofthetest,anddonotnecessarilyindicateperformanceunderconditionsotherthanthosespecifiedherein.1.5ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnon-conformancewiththestandard.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
