【摘要】:Thistestmethodprovidesnoabsoluteinformation,ratherrankingonlyoftheselectedseriesofpaints.Thistestmethodcanprovideapass-failsituationifknownacceptableandunacceptablepaintsareincludedinthetest.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthecomparativecoalescenceofaseriesoflatexpaintsbydeterminingtheporosityoffilmsdriedatstandardandatlowtemperature.PorosityisevaluatedwithapenetratingmediumasinTestMethodD3258.1.2Thetextureofthefilm,whichcanaffectcleanup,willinfluencetheresultsofthetest.Stainappliedtoahigh-hidingpaintwillnotlowerthereflectanceasmuchasthesamestainappliedtoalow-hidingpaintofequalporosity.Thesepointsmustbeconsideredincomparingthedifferentpaints.1.3Thismethodshouldbeusedonlyforcomparativetestingwithinonelaboratory,asthenumericalresultsobtainedbydifferentlaboratoriesdonotusuallyagree.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
